Over 100 artists exhibit in this show which is a local tradition and community event. In its 52nd year, the festival is located in a historical redwood park at the foot of Mount Tamalpais. Exhibitors range from painting, scupture, photography & printmaking to glass, ceramics, jewelry, wood & wearables.

30th Annual Contemporary Crafts

Highlighting the finest in contemporary crafts from around the country, Mesa Contemporary Art’s Annual Contemporary Crafts exhibition has become a benchmark for innovation and quality. This year represents a milestone for the museum as it celebrates the 30th anniversary of this popular juried exhibition. Representative of traditional craft mediums including ceramics, fibers, basketry, metals, wood, glass, jewelry, papermaking and book arts, this exhibition showcases 58 artworks by 39 artists from 14 states.

Peter’s Valley Artist in Residence

January / February 2008

During this residency I have focused on creating a collection of fabrics to be used in my sewn assemblages. Dyed surfaces, painted fabric, cyanotype, screen printed designs and image transfers from original drawings are some of the techniques being applied to canvas and light weight cottons.

Peter’s Valley is an amazing quiet place, a well kept secret for NJ, it’s located in the Delaware Water Gap in region near the NW border of PA.

International Fiber Collaborative

May 2008

This project is about our country’s extreme dependency on oil for an energy source. Launched by Jennifer Marsh in upstate NY, she has gathered a collection of  handmade fiber panels from artists around the world that are being sewn together to cover an abandonded gas station.
